Just installed a tow hitch and got the 7 pin wiring harness set up on my santa cruz, see mechanically everything went smooth, but I'm running into some weirdness with the trailer lights, the turn signals and brake lights work fine, but the running lights are DOA., I've double checked grounds, cleaned connections, and even tried a second trailer just to rule that out, but no dice yo, anyone else deal with this?, appreciate the help

What happens if you test the running light pin on the 7-pin connector with a multimeter, are you getting any voltage at all when your headlights are on?

Yeah, I experienced the same thing. Eventually I found that it was just a bad relay in the fuse box. Simple enough for me to fix on my own. Maybe check for a trailer light relay under the hood if everything else looks fine.
