The passenger-side SEL body molding is peeling halfway off, and the 3M tape has lost its stick. The lower trim on the driver's door is also pulling away. Honestly, if the dealer pushes me to go through a local service center, i'll probably just replace the whole set myself to avoid the hassle.

@bonneclay yeah, I got something like this before. The most important step is removing all the old tape and residue.
Use a heat gun or a hairdryer to soften the old adhesive, then scrape it off with a plastic tool. Finish with an automotive grade adhesive remover and clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol. The new tape won't stick well if the surface isn't perfectly clean

Thanks for the detailed steps . When you say "automotive grade adhesive remover," do you have a specific brand or type you'd recommend that works well without damaging the molding or paint??
