Got a 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz Limited, and after my first oil change at around 10,900 miles, the dealer told me I wouldn't need another one until 23,000 miles. That's way longer than the usual 5,000 to 7,500 miles. They said they're using a special oil, but I'm a bit worried about waiting that long. Has anyone else dealt with this, or is this kind of long interval normal?

Would you know if the dealer used a fully synthetic oil?
I'm guessing that's what he used because it's formulated for longer intervals.
However, 23,000mi sounds too extended for me.

Does your owner's manual mention anything about extended intervals or specific oil types? Always better to play it safe than be sorry when it comes to engine longevity.

23K miles? That's definitely on the extreme end of extended drain intervals, even for modern synthetics. While it's possible for certain oils and engines, it's longer than most. If it makes you uncomfortable, just change it more frequently. It won't hurt anything to change it at, say, 10k-15k intervals
