My Hyundai Santa Cruz's terrible rear visibility

Alright, one of my top complaints about my hyundai santa cruz is the awful rear visibility.

Seriously, between the tiny back window, big C-pillars, and headrests, seeing anything behind me is a nightmare, especially with my boat hitched up.

It's like half the view of my old truck, making backing up a trailer a total blind guess since the OEM cameras are too close focused.

My fix? I swapped the traditional rearview mirror for an Auto Vox T9 mirror cam.
This thing gives a live, wide angle feed from a camera mounted on the roof. It shows a ton more than the tiny window or low factory cameras ever could.

Now, backing my 24foot boat is actually manageable. I can see around the whole boat, check for the ramp, and even spot the trailer wheels and all the stuff that was completely hidden before. No more guessing where the trailer's going!

Yeah, I get what you mean. The rear visibility in the Santa Cruz is a real challenge most of the time. The roof-mounted cam idea is a smart workaround, especially with a trailer that size.

Common issue if you ask me. Swapping in a wide angle mirror cam like the Auto Vox T9 like @soveryodd-99 said definitely is a great fix,. it gives a full live view, makes backing up a trailer much easier and eliminates the blind spots the OEM setup cant cover.

It's definitely not just you, rear visibility in the Santa Cruz is a common frustration I've heard from other owners too. The mirror cam upgrade sounds like a smart workaround that makes towing way safer.

If you don't need them remove the headrests. Just don't lose them.
